Stop It

(I like it!)

When my son was around 5 years old, we started one of those bedtime ‘habits’, which incidentally used, understandably, to annoy my wife after settling his two sisters and him down for the night, I would come in from work and give them all a goodnight kiss and cuddle, along with a tickle under his chin. This would make him dissolve into helpless and infectious laughter, which his sisters loved, and my son, having protested at first, would then tease for some more.

Once again the faithful haiku provides a suitably brief form, although without the obligatory ‘Kigo’ (the Japanese apparently have books filled with Kigo, that is ‘season’ words, which, in other words, relate to autumn, winter, spring and summer.
